Responsibilities
Assists in maintaining and installing building systems related to all security equipment, video surveillance, alarm systems, and personnel safety in City facilities and public areas
Performs equipment tests, diagnostic functions, access control, and security systems
Performs preventative maintenance on access control and video surveillance systems
Performs miscellaneous repairs to various building systems
May be required to work overtime or alternate hours as necessary for the efficient operation of the department
Position is designated as Mission Critical
Performs related work as required
Qualification
Required
High school diploma from an accredited school or a GED
Two (2) years of experience working with security systems
Three (3) years of experience working in various building trades utilizing power tools and appropriate PPE for the work performed
Must possess and maintain a valid driver's license with appropriate endorsements as required by the employing department
Must possess a valid phone number
Must obtain the Genetec software certification within one year of employment
Must be able to pass a secondary background check provided by the City of Lakeland Police Department within thirty (30) days of hire
