Business Development Principal, Management Consulting
Hylant is a full-service insurance brokerage with over 20 offices in eight states. The Principal will assist business leaders and client executives, focusing on business development and project management within the consulting team.

Responsibilities
Achieve annual revenue and engagement targets established during the planning process
As a resource to our offices, enhance the Consulting value proposition within each Hylant office via training, marketing, and other activities with CE’s and staff
Create strong firm to firm COI relationships within a region and on a national basis by establishing processes for both pipeline and strategy development
Manage multiple competing priorities and meet tight deadlines while helping to lead the consulting team
Project manage the end-to-end business development and (scope of work) SOW delivery process for consulting clients in collaboration with internal team
Leverage existing industry relationships and COIs to create new leads and generate opportunities
Source new leads and deal-flow through conferences, seminars and industry events
Coordinate the completion (SOW) new business proposals
Integrate into identified global markets in which to promote Hylant Consulting offerings
Identify strategic opportunities and work with senior management and team specialists to secure new deals
Develop a network throughout the industry to increase Hylant’s exposure and business opportunities
Advise companies and their boards of directors on the impact of risk strategies on the firm’s business and growth strategies
Serve as project leader contact and create and deliver presentations
Develop ideas and proposals for clients’ future strategic actions, and corporate strategy, create and communicate SOWs to prospective clients
Build and maintain existing relationships in the industry, with business travel throughout the U.S
Qualification
Required
Bachelors' degree from an accredited four-year college or university is required; MBA or Master's-level education is highly encouraged
Minimum seven (7) years of insurance experience (advisory, brokerage, or underwriting) required
Strong communication skills including active listening and ability to effectively apply knowledge, experience and understanding of client needs to serve as trusted consultant and yield deliverables as expected
Demonstrated ability to work with diverse team members and clients across various levels of an organization such as C-Suite leaders, attorneys, etc
Strong project management methodology, including effective use of resources to ensure team is able to effectively contribute to a project's deliverables
Must possess and maintain an active Property & Casualty license
Ability and willingness to travel by car or airplane for meetings, conferences, or other business-related functions
Must be legally authorized to work in the United States
Preferred
Prior experience in insurance and/or consulting is highly preferred
