In this role, you’ll help manage approximately 64,000 railcars critical to supporting the automotive supply chain by optimizing fleet operations and providing data-driven insights. The position involves engaging with customers and partners, managing pipelines, and supporting special projects.

Responsibilities

Optimize Fleet Operations: Assist in planning, coordination, and implementation of strategies to manage railcar distribution and utilization

Data-Driven Decisions: Prepare weekly distribution and performance reports, analyze KPIs, and provide insights to senior leadership and external stakeholders

Customer & Partner Engagement: Communicate with shippers and shop personnel to ensure smooth loading operations and accurate railcar data

Pipeline Management: Monitor empty car queues and ensure timely supply for shippers

Continuous Improvement: Identify process enhancements to improve efficiency and equity across the fleet

Special Projects: Support strategic initiatives, develop BI dashboards, and maintain accurate railcar information systems

Qualification

Required

Bachelor's degree in Economics, Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Analytics, or related field

1–2 years in operations, logistics, or analytics (or equivalent combination of education and experience)

Proficiency in Excel

Strong problem-solving skills and ability to interpret complex data

Ability to present findings clearly to internal teams and external partners

Preferred

familiarity with BI tools (Power BI, SQL Server, Tableau, SAS)
