Responsibilities
Lead and develop a high-performing team of senior and property accountants, fostering growth and accountability
Own full-cycle accounting for complex real estate entities, including consolidations and intercompany transactions
Oversee financial reporting at the portfolio level — monthly, quarterly, and annual statements for internal and external stakeholders
Manage critical processes: bank reconciliations, journal entries, accruals, and key transaction recording (sales, acquisitions, refinancing)
Ensure compliance with GAAP and internal controls while supporting audits, tax filings, and due diligence for acquisitions/dispositions
Partner cross-functionally with operations, asset management, and investor relations to deliver insights and optimize performance
Drive process improvements and implement best practices to enhance efficiency and scalability
Serve as a strategic advisor to leadership on accounting matters, financial trends, and operational impacts
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
6+ years of progressive accounting experience, including leadership roles; real estate or property management expertise highly valued
Advanced technical skills: Excel proficiency and experience with Yardi
Proven leadership ability — skilled at managing, mentoring, and motivating teams in a fast-paced environment
Exceptional communication and organizational skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate across departments
Strategic mindset with a hands-on approach to problem-solving and continuous improvement
Preferred
CPA preferred but not required
