Collections Specialist

Pacific NW Federal Credit Union is a not-for-profit financial institution dedicated to being their members' financial partner for life. The Collections Specialist will work within the Collections department to collect on early to mid-stage delinquent loans and accounts while adhering to credit union policies and procedures.

Responsibilities

Contact members to bring delinquent loans current and/or collect on loan balances
Analyze the financial situation of delinquent members and recommend next steps when arrangements fail
Maintain accurate files and reports by documenting all collection activities
Inform management of delinquency trends related to account overdraft activity, loan early-stage collections, or potential account charge-offs
Perform other job-related duties as assigned

Required

1-3 years of similar or related experience (collections, banking, or financial services)
Skilled at managing multiple tasks and systems efficiently
Strong communicator with the ability to handle sensitive situations professionally and persuasively
Works effectively both independently and as part of a team
Demonstrates patience and empathy while resolving issues through negotiation and productive solutions
