Responsibilities

Conduct daily media monitoring across cybersecurity, technology, and business publications
Track coverage metrics, sentiment analysis, and prepare comprehensive media reports with actionable insights
Identify trending topics, emerging threats, and industry conversations relevant to our events and audience
Monitor competitor activities, industry developments, and regulatory changes affecting cybersecurity
Maintain crisis communication protocols and escalation procedures
Draft compelling press releases for event announcements, speaker reveals, and company milestones
Create engaging blog content highlighting industry insights, event highlights, executive interviews, and thought leadership pieces
Develop media alerts, fact sheets, executive bios, and media briefs
Collaborate with internal teams to ensure consistent messaging across all communications
Support development of key messaging and talking points for executives
Build and maintain comprehensive media lists targeting cybersecurity, technology, business, and trade publications
Research and identify new media outlets, journalists, podcasters, and industry influencers
Pitch story ideas and secure media coverage for events and company initiatives
Coordinate media interviews and speaking opportunities for executives
Develop and maintain relationships with industry analysts and research firms
Develop comprehensive pre-event, on-site, and post-event communication strategies
Support on-site media relations during events, including press room management
Assist with monitoring social media coverage during events
Prepare monthly PR performance reports with ROI analysis and recommendations
Monitor and report on brand sentiment and reputation metrics

Required

Bachelor's degree in Communications, Public Relations, Marketing, Journalism, or related field (or equivalent experience)
1-3 years of PR/communications experience, preferably in B2B technology, cybersecurity, or events
Understanding of the cybersecurity industry landscape, terminology, and key players
Demonstrated experience managing multiple projects simultaneously
Proficiency in media monitoring tools (Cision, Meltwater, Google Alerts, or similar)
Experience with press release distribution platforms (PR Newswire, Business Wire, or similar)
Strong writing and editing skills with attention to detail
Social media management experience across professional platforms (LinkedIn, X, etc.)
Experience with project management tools (Asana, Monday.com, or similar)
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to craft clear, compelling messages for diverse audiences
Strong research, analytical, and critical thinking abilities
Ability to work under tight deadlines in a fast-paced, global environment
Proactive mindset with strong organizational and time management skills
Experience building relationships with media contacts and industry stakeholders

Preferred

Previous experience in cybersecurity, technology, or events industry
Knowledge of AP style, media best practices, and crisis communication principles
Proficiency across major social media platforms and emerging digital channels
Basic understanding of SEO principles for content optimization
Experience with media training or spokesperson preparation
Familiarity with cybersecurity conferences, trade shows, or B2B events
