Senior Linux Systems and Automation Engineer
SLAS (Society for Laboratory Automation and Screening) is seeking a Senior Linux Systems and Automation Engineer to join their team. Responsibilities
Analyze solution alternatives and recommend technical solutions that best meet requirements
Perform system integration, testing, and validation processes for new capabilities and regression use cases
Ensure systems meet security specifications
Collaborate with all departments within the program, from lab integration to operational support of the enterprise operational network
Manage the integration of system changes and new capabilities through deployment to the production system
Engage in research and data analysis to choose the best standards and tools for system development
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in a specialized area; or equivalent is required plus a minimum of 8 years of relevant experience; or Master's degree plus a minimum of 6 years of relevant experience
Department of Defense TS/SCI security clearance is required at time of hire
Candidates must be able to obtain a Polygraph
Applicants selected will be subject to a U.S. Government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information
U.S. citizenship is required
A minimum of an IAT Level II (DoD 8570/8140.01) certification is required at the time of hire: e.g., CompTIA Security+, GSEC, SSCP, and CCNA-Security
Proficiency in systems engineering concepts and tools
Experience with requirements analysis and deployment preparation
Extensive knowledge of utilizing automated means for deployment and sustainment of operational systems
Ability to analyze and resolve system design issues
Proficiency in OS and hardware/software troubleshooting and performance tuning
Ability to apply Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs) and address vulnerabilities
Familiarity with Enterprise Architecture Frameworks and project management principles
Ability to convert requirements into thorough test documentation
Experience with the creation of Ansible Playbooks
Knowledge of Structured Agile Framework (SAFe) principles
Preferred
Senior level experience with multi-level systems and hands-on experience in Linux OS (Red Hat 7 and 8; PitBull 7 and 8)
Experience with the implementation and deployment of automation tools such as Ansible, Satellite, Ansible Tower/Ansible Automation Platform (AAP)
