Controller - Healthcare
MOHR Talent is partnering with a leading behavioral healthcare organization serving New Jersey. They are seeking an experienced Controller to lead the organization’s accounting and finance operations, manage a small team, and modernize financial systems through a new ERP implementation.

Responsibilities
Lead the full month-end close process, including journal entries, reconciliations, and detailed financial review
Manage financial reporting, including cash flow analysis, budget vs. actuals, and executive dashboards
Coordinate external audit and review engagements; ensure audit readiness
Oversee the implementation and successful rollout of Sage Intacct or similar ERP system
Supervise a team of 4–5 accounting/finance staff, providing mentorship, performance feedback, and workflow optimization
Strengthen internal controls and ensure compliance with GAAP and healthcare accounting standards
Partner with program, operations, and leadership teams to support financial strategy and organizational goals
Utilize advanced Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, IF statements, datasets) and PowerPoint to create meaningful presentations for senior leadership
Identify process improvements, automation opportunities, and system enhancements across the finance function
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
Proven experience in a controller-level role, ideally in healthcare, nonprofit, or multi-entity environments
Strong technical accounting background, including GAAP, audits, and full-cycle month-end close
Advanced Excel skills with the ability to build accurate, insightful reporting
Strong leadership ability with experience managing and developing accounting teams
Excellent communication skills and comfort presenting to senior leadership
Preferred
CPA preferred
Experience implementing or working with Sage Intacct (or other major ERP systems)
