Accounting lecturer or assistant professor of instruction

Kent State University is seeking qualified applicants for a full-time, nine-month, non-tenure track position in accounting at the rank of Assistant Professor or Lecturer. The successful candidate will teach undergraduate and graduate courses in taxation and engage with the business community, contributing to departmental initiatives.

Responsibilities

Teach both in-person and online undergraduate and graduate courses in taxation and other areas as needed by the department
Engage with the business community and be actively involved with selected students and departmental-related initiatives

Qualification

Terminal degree in accountingTeaching experienceActive CPA licenseProfessional certificationEngagement with business communityResearch-active

Required

Practical or teaching experience in taxation is required
Candidates for the Assistant Professor level must have an earned terminal degree in accounting or taxation
Candidates for the Lecturer level must have a Master's degree in accounting or a related area
Candidates for the Lecturer level must have an active CPA license
Candidates for the Lecturer level must have at least five years of accounting-related professional experience

Preferred

Candidates who can also teach in other accounting areas are preferred
Active professional certification(s) e.g., CPA, CMA, etc. and teaching experience at the collegiate level are a plus
Teaching experience at the collegiate level is a plus
