Network Management Engineer (TS/SCI)
Take2 Consulting, LLC is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented NMS Engineer with hands-on experience administering SolarWinds to support and maintain the Network Management System environment. The selected candidate will play a critical role in ensuring proactive monitoring, availability, performance, and security compliance of enterprise IT infrastructure.
Responsibilities
Maintain SolarWinds modules, including:
Network Performance Monitor (NPM)
Server & Application Monitor (SAM)
Network Traffic Analyzer (NTA)
Network Configuration Manager (NCM)
Monitor performance, availability, and health of:
Network devices (routers, switches, firewalls)
Servers (Windows and Linux)
Applications and databases
Develop and maintain custom dashboards, alerts, and reports to support IT operations and mission requirements
Perform STIG compliance, security hardening, and configuration validation for the SolarWinds platform
Integrate SolarWinds with external tools and platforms (e.g., ServiceNow)
Analyze performance data and trends to proactively identify issues and recommend improvements
Perform routine SolarWinds software updates, patching, and security configurations
Troubleshoot SolarWinds-related issues and provide Tier 2 / Tier 3 support
Document system configurations, standard operating procedures, and best practices
Collaborate with network, systems, security, and DevOps teams to ensure accurate and comprehensive monitoring coverage
Participate in on-call support rotation as required
Work across infrastructure domains (networking, security, storage, virtualization, and servers) to deliver availability, capacity, and resilience improvements
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree with 4+ years of relevant experience OR equivalent combination of experience, education, and training
2+ years of hands-on experience administering SolarWinds or other Network Management Systems (NMS)
Active Security+ certification (or DoD 8570/8140 equivalent)
Strong understanding of enterprise IT infrastructure, including routers, switches, and firewalls
Strong understanding of Windows and Linux servers
Strong understanding of virtualization platforms
Experience with monitoring, alerting, and reporting tools
Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills
