EPG Field Technician

Fabick Cat is the authorized dealer of Caterpillar equipment, specializing in power generation solutions. The EPG Field Technician will perform commissioning, maintenance, and repair of CAT power generators, ensuring optimal performance and reliability for clients across various industries.

Construction

Responsibilities

Perform commissioning, maintenance, and repair of CAT power generators up to 3000KW, including those powered by natural gas, biogas, and diesel
Conduct routine inspections and preventive maintenance to ensure optimal performance and reliability of generators
Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical and electrical issues with generators and related equipment
Perform load bank testing and other diagnostic procedures to assess generator performance
Maintain accurate records of service activities, including work orders, maintenance logs, and parts inventory
Provide technical support and guidance to customers regarding generator operation and maintenance
Ensure compliance with OSHA safety regulations and company policies during all service activities
Collaborate with other technicians and team members to resolve complex technical issues
Stay updated on industry trends, new technologies, and best practices in power generation
Interact with commercial customers to understand their needs, provide solutions, and ensure customer satisfaction

Required

High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification or associate degree in electrical or mechanical engineering preferred
Minimum of 3 years of experience in the maintenance and repair of power generators, preferably 50KW up to 3000 kW
Strong knowledge of CAT generator systems, including diesel and gas engines, electrical components, and control systems
Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical manuals, schematics, and diagrams
Excellent troubleshooting and diagnostic skills
Ability to work independently and manage time effectively
Strong communication and customer service skills
Valid driver's license and willingness to travel to various job sites

Preferred

Technical certification or associate degree in electrical or mechanical engineering
Knowledge of control panels and switchgear is a plus
