Responsibilities

Learn and understand the laboratory testing process for International Paper, our facilities, and our customers

Provide support in the testing and evaluation of paper and paperboard samples and corrugated packaging as requested by containerboard mills, manufacturing facilities and their direct customers

Assist in performing tests using various industry standards, including TAPPI, ASTM, and ISTA test methods

Help analyze test data and compare results to specific quality standards

Exposure to a wide variety of projects related to paper quality and package performance

Carry out safety protocols and processes that are required in the testing lab and facility

Routinely handle test materials weighing 50 lbs. or more

Required

Studying for a Bachelor's Degree in a scientific discipline preferred

Working knowledge of TAPPI, ASTM, ISTA procedures is preferred

Proficient with Microsoft Teams, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint

Strong communication skills (oral & written)

Strong analytical skills, which includes a basic knowledge of statistics, data collection techniques, and problem solving tools (flow charts, control charts, histograms, bar charts, etc

Drive, initiative, and a desire to work in a manufacturing setting
