The Energy Systems Analyst Intern will collaborate with team members to design and build software tools for evaluating transmission and generation needs of the future grid, while performing technical modeling and analysis to support development of new opportunities.

Responsibilities
Collaborate with colleagues to create new analysis tools and models to identify, design, and evaluate new transmission and generation projects
Identify enhancements to state-of-the-art tools to better identify optimal transmission opportunities from the analysis of a multitude of scenarios and sensitivities
Collaborate with internal and external Subject Matter Experts to arrive at the most cost-effective and competitive transmission solutions
Assists department with assigned projects
Completes challenging projects and assignments
Presents final project to senior leadership at the end of the internship
Assumes responsibility for own travel, lodging, and transportation necessary to be available for the program
Performs other job-related duties as assigned
Qualification
Required
High school grad / GED
Maintain active enrollment in a Bachelor or higher degree program
Maintain cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher
Preferred
Power systems knowledge
Experience in data analysis and modeling
Experience with power flow or production cost modeling software
Knowledge of transmission and renewable energy generation
Familiarity with Python
