GM/HBC Manager

Tom Thumb is a grocery store chain, and they are seeking a GM/HBC Manager to oversee store operations in the absence of the Store Director. The role involves maintaining customer service standards, managing inventory, training employees, and ensuring compliance with company policies.

Responsibilities

Maintains an atmosphere of enthusiastic customer awareness with an emphasis on providing fast and friendly Customer Service
Assists customers by making product suggestions
Engages in suggestive selling and other sales techniques via telephone, in-store intercom announcements and one-on-one customer interaction
Answers and responds to incoming calls appropriately. Receives and appropriately resolves customer complaints and reports to Store Director as needed
Responsible for total store operations in the absence of the Store Director (See Store Director job description)
Plans GM daily operations, monitors production process following company procedures and profitability
Builds GM/HBC displays, rotates and discards outdated or spoiled product. Ensures cleanliness of work area and department
Implements effective promotional and seasonal displays
Ability to follow and maintain department standards and requirements
Monitors employee’ productivity and evaluates overall performance
Schedules employees to ensure adequate coverage and service levels
Specific knowledge of duties performed by all department employees. Including but not limited to opening and closing duties
Schedules, supervises, trains and assigns duties to department employees
Trains employees in store policies, sales and record keeping procedures
Identifies and trains employees with high potential for advancement opportunities
Working knowledge of company policies and guidelines as outlined in the Albertsons/Tom Thumb Employee Handbook
Responsible for insuring proper code dating for all products within the department are being enforced
Initiates personnel actions such as pre-employment interviews, transfers, promotions, and disciplinary actions
Prepare sales and inventory reports. Physical inventory taken every 6 months
Controls inventory to ensure adequate product quantity, quality and freshness and maintains inventory levels according to division directives. Stocks and rotates product
Orders general merchandise product and maintains inventory levels according to Division directives
Supervises the processing of all reclamation as well as maintains orderly and in stock conditions in back room and all Drug Department areas
Controls shrink and cost
Uses and operates related equipment such as pallet jack, hand truck, scissors, knives, and safety cutters
