Energy Project Manager
Microsoft’s Cloud Operations & Innovation (CO+I) team is responsible for the full lifecycle of Microsoft’s cloud infrastructure. The Energy Project Manager will manage energy supply opportunities and infrastructure development plans while influencing strategic decision making across teams.

Responsibilities
Identify, evaluate and negotiate datacenter energy supply and interconnection solutions with utilities and third-party energy suppliers in support of Microsoft’s datacenter growth
Develop relationships with external suppliers and partners, including electric utilities, economic development groups, regulatory agencies, and technology providers, to deliver solutions for energy supply and infrastructure
Develop frameworks and analyze data to improve accuracy and speed of decision making
Advise cross-functional teams and leadership on risks, priorities, and recommendations
Engage stakeholders with competing objectives to influence project outcomes
Business travel required (10%-25%, subject to fluctuation with business tempo)
Qualification
Required
Master's degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, Engineering, Materials Science, or related field AND 1+ year(s) experience in procurement, supply chain, sourcing, engineering, operations, or relevant sales-related roles OR Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, Engineering, Materials Science, or related field AND 2+ years experience in procurement, supply chain, sourcing, engineering, operations, or relevant sales-related roles OR equivalent experience
Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include, but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings:
Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter
Preferred
Master's degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, Engineering, Materials Science, or related field AND 3+ years experience in procurement, supply chain, sourcing, engineering, operations, or relevant sales-related roles OR Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, Engineering, Materials Science, or related field AND 5+ years experience in procurement, supply chain, sourcing, engineering, operations, or relevant sales-related roles OR equivalent experience
2+ years of experience in the datacenter industry
4+ years of experience negotiating power contracts
2+ years of experience in utilities, power, or related industry
3+ years of experience negotiating business agreements
