Responsibilities

Lead operations of laboratory automation systems, including hardware and software components
Work with scientific teams to capture requirements and translate needs into reliable automated workflows
Oversee system integrations to ensure data flows to laboratory information systems and analytics platforms
Manage partnerships and technical delivery to meet timelines and quality expectations
Drive intelligent utilization of automation systems and provide practical training and support to end users
Maintain documentation and continuous improvement plans to ensure performance, safety and compliance

Required

Bachelor's degree in engineering, computer science, life sciences, or a related technical field
10 or more years of experience in laboratory automation, automation engineering, or related roles
Experience delivering automation projects in a laboratory or research environment
Experience with industry-standard automation scheduling software, hardware, and data platforms
Experience coordinating multi-disciplinary project teams

Preferred

Advanced degree in engineering, computational biology, or a related field
Strong written and verbal communication skills, with ability to explain technical solutions to diverse audiences
Hands-on experience with robotics or digital orchestration
Familiarity with scripting or programming languages such as Python, and experience with APIs or middleware
Knowledge of data standards, data integrity principles and laboratory compliance requirements
Experience with cloud platforms and data pipeline design
Track record of mentoring colleagues and building inclusive, collaborative teams
