Responsibilities

Perform accurate, reliable, and timely laboratory testing that provides laboratory information to physicians and other healthcare professionals for the diagnosis and treatment of their patients

Follow the Laboratory’s written policies and procedures in order to safely perform testing

Ensure the quality of that testing

Train CLS student interns and new CLS employees

Assist in the evaluation and selection of laboratory instrumentation

Participate in process improvement projects

Maintain laboratory accreditation

Provide expertise in other areas that are consistent with the CLS scope of practice

Qualification

Clinical Laboratory ScienceCalifornia CLS LicenseAcute Care Hospital ExperienceProcess ImprovementTraining Skills

Required

Baccalaureate degree in clinical laboratory science or equivalent

Minimum 3 years CLS acute care hospital experience in the past 5 years

Must be available to work weekends on rotational basis and holidays

Available enterprise-wide and other shifts occasionally as needed for work assignments

Current California Clinical Laboratory Scientist license

If required to drive to other sites; valid California Driver License and proof of automobile insurance
