Responsibilities
Define and own the tooling and automation roadmap that supports data center campus planning, construction, commissioning, and customer network/server deployment workflows, aligned with Fleet’s growth objectives and customer commitments
Develop end-to-end, multi-phase program plans and schedules for tooling and automation initiatives, aligning stakeholder needs and delivery dates, upstream data sources, system integrations, and change-management milestones. You are responsible for on-time and on-budget delivery of high-impact internal tools and automation capabilities
Translate ambiguous operational and business problems into clear technical requirements, including data models, integrations, user journeys, and reporting needs, partnering closely with software engineering, data engineering, product, and operations teams
Design and implement mechanisms and dashboards that provide single-source-of-truth visibility into campus delivery, capacity, financials, and risk, reliably catching and escalating delays, rework, and other risks to meeting customer commitments
Establish and champion standards for data quality, telemetry, and observability across tools and workflows, ensuring that program and portfolio decisions are made on high-quality, timely data
Coordinate, track, and drive execution of cross-functional teams (internal and external) delivering new tools and automations, including requirements, design, development, testing, deployment, documentation, and training
Own change management and user adoption, including communication plans, training materials, stakeholder onboarding, feedback loops, and iterative improvements that drive sustained use and measurable impact
Drive integration of internal tools with upstream and downstream systems (e.g., ERP, project management, commissioning, procurement, and vendor systems), reducing manual handoffs and eliminating redundant data entry
Collaborate and innovate on data center delivery tooling and processes, piloting new technologies and approaches that improve delivery reliability, quality, sustainability, and efficiency, and reduce cost
Develop mechanisms to measure, report, and improve key metrics (e.g., forecast accuracy, schedule variance, cycle time, manual effort elimination, error rates) and regularly communicate status and insights to leadership
Partner with procurement and vendor management to evaluate, select, and manage external software and services (e.g., SaaS platforms, analytics tools, workflow engines), including RFPs, proposals, and contracts where applicable
Support capital allocation and business-case development for tooling and automation investments, including ROI analysis, operating model changes, and TCO impacts, in partnership with finance and leadership
Develop and maintain documentation and runbooks for key tools, data flows, and automations, ensuring continuity, resilience, and scalability as Fleet grows
Qualification
Required
10–15 years of increasing scope and responsibility in technical program management, product management, or engineering leadership, including significant ownership of internal tools, data platforms, or workflow automation for large-scale infrastructure, cloud, manufacturing, or similar complex environments
Demonstrable results delivering large, cross-functional tooling or automation programs on time and within budget, with clear, quantified improvements in schedule reliability, operational efficiency, or risk reduction
Experience leading programs that span both physical infrastructure and digital systems, ideally including planning, construction, commissioning, and/or operations of critical facilities infrastructure (e.g., data centers, power, industrial facilities)
Proven ability to build, optimize, and scale capacity planning, project planning, budgeting, and tracking tools and processes, including portfolio-level visibility and reporting
Strong understanding of data models, APIs, integrations, and analytics; able to engage deeply with engineering and data teams and make informed trade-offs between build, buy, and integrate options
Experience with sourcing, contract negotiation, and supplier relationship management for software, platforms, and consulting services within technology or infrastructure organizations
Strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder-management skills, including the ability to influence senior engineering and business leaders and to drive alignment across organizations with competing priorities
Demonstrated ability to work backward from customers and internal users, converting qualitative feedback and quantitative data into clear roadmaps and prioritized backlogs
