Auto Adjuster
SoTalent is seeking a dedicated Auto Claims Adjuster to manage the full lifecycle of moderately complex auto insurance claims. This role focuses on delivering timely, compliant, and compassionate service while investigating liability, evaluating coverage, and resolving claims in accordance with regulatory requirements.
Responsibilities
Manage auto claims from initial intake through resolution, including investigation, evaluation, negotiation, and settlement
Determine liability and apply appropriate policy coverages, including shared or comparative negligence scenarios
Gather and analyze information from multiple sources such as police reports, recorded statements, and witness accounts
Identify potential fraud indicators and initiate referrals for special investigations when needed
Document claim decisions clearly, including investigation findings, damage assessments, and settlement rationale
Communicate proactively with members, claimants, and internal partners to set expectations and drive resolution
Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure efficient and effective claim outcomes
Utilize digital tools and multiple communication channels to provide best-in-class customer service
Support catastrophe response efforts and assist during workload surges, including on-call or extended-hour coverage when required
Ensure compliance with all applicable laws, regulations, and internal risk management policies
Qualification
Required
High school diploma or equivalent
At least 1 year of customer service experience
Experience handling low-complexity auto liability claims
Ability to obtain and maintain required insurance adjuster licensing within established timelines
Working knowledge of auto insurance policies, claims handling procedures, and applicable regulations
Strong investigation, negotiation, communication, and conflict-resolution skills
Ability to manage multiple priorities and navigate various business systems
Preferred
One or more years of end-to-end auto liability claims experience
Experience managing a claims inventory with demonstrated organizational skills
Two or more years of customer-facing experience
Proven background handling comparative negligence and shared liability claims
Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret policy language and assess coverage
Experience using Guidewire or similar claims management platforms
Bachelor's degree or industry certifications (e.g., AIC, CPCU)
Military service experience or affiliation
