Responsibilities
Design Leadership: Lead the production of drawings for complex, non-routine assignments including site design, roads, storm drainage, water/sewer utilities, and erosion control
Technical Calculations: Perform and quality-review complex volume calculations for excavation, dredging, and upland site grading
Project Management Integration: Incorporate schedules, budgets, and project criteria into designs to meet financial goals; manage drawing revisions and plot files in a structured manner
QA/QC Oversight: Lead the quality review process for designs, sketches, and mark-ups, ensuring strict adherence to design codes and specifications
Collaboration & Mentorship: Work alongside Project Managers and Engineers in a multi-discipline environment while training and mentoring junior design staff
Site Evaluation: Present and interpret topographical and geologic data (reports, maps, drawings) to plan and execute design projects
Qualification
Required
13 years with a Bachelor's in Drafting Technology (or related)
14 years with an Associate Degree
15 years of progressive detailing/design experience without a degree
Field experience is strictly required
Advanced proficiency in AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and MicroStation
Advanced understanding of civil discipline theory, practices, and design systems, including the ability to resolve cross-disciplinary design conflicts
