Workforce Regional Operations Director (Austin)

Responsibilities
Direct day-to-day operations of ISAM, including financial, budgetary, and programmatic activities
Oversee and/or prepare ISAM policies, procedures, reports, and studies to ensure regulatory compliance
Provide strategic direction and approve operational and staff resources for ISAM
Supervise the work of others, including management-level staff
Identify and manage strategic risks related to ISAM's operations and compliance responsibilities
Direct and approve the preparation of the ISAM budget and long-range budgetary plans
Participate in strategic initiatives and policy development related to integrated workforce services and compliance
Qualification
Required
Five years of full-time experience in the oversight and direction of an agency program; or in strategic planning and policy development and implementation, two years of which must have been in an administrative management or supervisory capacity
Relevant academic credits may be applied toward experience qualifications for this position
One year of full-time in-service TWC experience classified as a Manager IV with regular status will satisfy the minimum qualifications
Preferred
Experience in policy administration and management work, preferably within the context of workforce development or regulatory compliance
Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university with major coursework in business or public administration or a related field is generally preferred
In-depth Knowledge: Understanding of local, state, and federal laws/regulations related to workforce development, Employment Services, Career Schools and Colleges, and Foreign Labor Certification; and knowledge of business management, or public administration
Strategic Skills: Ability to plan, organize, and direct program activities; establish program goals and objectives; identify problems, evaluate alternatives, and implement solutions; develop policies and procedures; and prepare concise reports
Communication and Leadership: Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with internal and external stakeholders, including the ability to make presentations and potentially testify at hearings; and the ability to supervise and mentor staff effectively
