Associate Cybersecurity Engineer

Responsibilities

Provide accurate technical evaluations, software applications, full system, or network and documenting the security posture, capabilities, and vulnerabilities against applicable JSIG controls
Provide basic IT support (Tier 1–2) when required, including troubleshooting workstation issues, supporting user access, hardware/software issues, and coordinating with IT teams for escalated issues across multiple networks
Support endpoint detection and response (EDR), host-based security systems (HBSS), and log aggregation platforms, including: Trellix (formerly McAfee ePO/HBSS) and Elastic Stack (ElasticSearch, Logstash, Kibana)
Documenting preliminary or residual security risks for system operation & manage and approve Authorization Packages
Develop and maintain scripts and automation using languages such as Powershell, Painless(Elasticsearch), and Python
Analyze security logs and alerts within Elastic and endpoint platforms to identify potential threats or misconfigurations
Monitoring and evaluating a system's compliance with Department of Defense (DoD) security, resilience, and dependability requirements including performing validation steps, comparing actual results with expected results and analyze the differences to identify impact and risks at the software application, system, and network levels
Work with team to provide solutions and to ensure continued functionality of systems within DoD RMF Framework

Required

Bachelor's degree in a technical field is required. Additional experience may substitute for degree
0-3 years of relevant experience
Knowledge and/or experience in the Cybersecurity Domain
Knowledge and/or experience with implementing and evaluating DoD STIG requirements, JSIG RMF, IAVMs and Cybersecurity assessment tools (ACAS, Nessus, SCC, STIG Viewer)
Knowledge and/or experience Endpoint Security, Vulnerability Management, Logging, and Monitoring
Knowledge and/or experience in the Risk Management Framework (RMF) process and JSIG security controls
Knowledge and/or experience of information system architecture and standards as they apply to cybersecurity
Minimum 8570 IASAE I Certification (i.e. Security+)
DoD Top Secret security clearance required
U.S. Citizenship is required
