Responsibilities
Manage defense litigation matters from inception through resolution
Analyze complex legal and factual issues and develop strategic defense approaches
Conduct research and prepare motions, briefs, pleadings, discovery responses
Handle depositions, mediations, and settlement negotiations
Prepare witnesses and evidence for hearings, trial, and ADR
Communicate recommendations, risk analysis, and case strategy to clients
Collaborate with partners, clients, and claims professionals
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree required
J/D
Licensed in Kansas, Missouri or Arizona
For Kansas Attorney's must have MO license or be willing to get one
4+ years litigation in Insurance Defense, Workers' Comp, and/or General Liability
Licensed in Kansas and/or Missouri (one required, both preferred & must obtain the other) OR Arizona
Strong writing and motion practice
Ability to manage deadlines and a busy caseload
Excellent communication skills
Highly organized and detail-oriented
