Electrical Designer Intern - Kiewit Nuclear Solutions
Kiewit Nuclear Solutions is seeking an Electrical Design Intern for the Kansas City or Oak Ridge office. The role involves assisting in establishing and maintaining company standards and tools while contributing to project success through design documentation and collaboration with the design team.

Responsibilities
Report on project progress and issues to Lead Electrical Designers
Apply engineering codes at national and local levels
Develop and review 3D models and plan drawings for electrical deliverables
Create schematics, one-line drawings, and concept sketches from engineering inputs
Maintain and organize master drawing sets, revisions, and originals
Complete as-built documentation using RFI forms, ECNs, and red-marked drawings
Participate in project meetings and collaborate with design team members
Check designs for consistency, safety, operability, and maintenance requirements
Resolve comments from checked drawings and update electrical cable schedules
Model electrical components from vendor submittals and electrical designs
Support project development with miscellaneous technical tasks
Qualification
Required
Pursuing an Associate's, Vocational, or Bachelor's degree in Design & Drafting Technology, Engineering Technology, Design, or a related field
Experience with 3D programs such as MicroStation, AutoCAD, Revit, AutoCAD MEP, or Navisworks, and familiarity with the latest operating systems
Ability to visualize and conceptualize in a 3D environment
Proficient in email communication and electronic meeting requests, as well as spreadsheets, databases, and PDF software
Capable of professionally representing Kiewit to owners, contractors, vendors, and external contacts
Must be a US citizen with documentation for badge access
Pass a security questionnaire and background check appropriate to position duties
Regular, reliable attendance
Work productively and meet deadlines timely
Communicate and interact effectively and professionally with supervisors, employees, and others individually or in a team environment
Perform work safely and effectively. Understand and follow oral and written instructions, including warning signs, equipment use, and other policies
Work during normal operating hours to organize and complete work within given deadlines. Work overtime and weekends as required
