Managing and overseeing the PMO for the Department of Justice (DOJ)

Overseeing a unit of project managers/business analysts and technical staff responsible for planning, executing, and supporting IT systems as business process improvements

Providing supervisory leadership, assigning workloads, setting priorities, ensuring adherence to statewide standards, and ensuring quality and compliance

Playing a dual role as a Senior Project Manager and Senior Business Analyst while supervising staff who perform these functions

Ensuring compliance with the State Administrative Manual, Statewide Information Management Manual, Project Approval Lifecycle, Business Analysis Body of Knowledge, statewide security and privacy policies, procurement rules, and department IT governance processes

Managing multiple projects concurrently, including Delegated and Non-delegated medium and high criticality projects

Providing leadership, motivation, coaching, removing roadblocks, and inspiring the team to do their best work

Developing and maintaining communication and working relationships within the PMPB, CJIS Division, DOJ Divisions, and with external and other governmental agencies

Under the general direction of the California Justice Information Services (CJIS), Enterprise Services Bureau, Project Management & Procurement Branch (PMPB), Project Management & Oversight Section, Project Management Office (PMO), Information Technology Manager I, the Information Technology Supervisor II (IT Sup II) is responsible for managing and overseeing the PMO for the Department of Justice (DOJ)

The IT Sup II oversees a unit of project managers/business analysts, and technical staff responsible for planning, executing, and supporting IT systems as business process improvements across the department

The incumbent provides supervisory leadership, assigns workloads, sets priorities, ensures adherence to statewide standards, and ensures quality and compliance

The IT Sup II plays a dual role as a Senior Project Manager and Senior Business Analyst, while also supervising staff who perform these functions

The role ensures compliance with the State Administrative Manual, Statewide Information Management Manual, Project Approval Lifecycle, Business Analysis Body of Knowledge, statewide security and privacy policies, procurement rules, and department IT governance processes

The incumbent may be assigned to and responsible for management of multiple projects concurrently

Assignments will involve Delegated, Non-delegated medium and high criticality projects needed for continued operation of State business processes and / or implementing legislative mandates

The incumbent will provide leadership, motivation, coaching, remove roadblocks, and inspire the team to do their best work

The incumbent must develop and maintain communication and working relationships within the PMPB, the CJIS Division, and the DOJ Divisions, as well as with external and other governmental agencies at all levels
