Concord Hospital Health System is seeking an Emergency Department Technician 2 who provides direct and indirect patient care duties under the guidance of a Registered Nurse or Paramedic. The role involves responding to patient care requests, maintaining patient care skills, collecting laboratory specimens, and assisting with clerical duties as part of the patient care team.

Responsibilities

Responds to requests for patient care assistance as delegated by the Registered Nurse (RN)

Maintains skill level to perform patient care tasks, to include, intravenous catheter insertion and medication administration, as delegated by the RN

Maintains skill level to administer medications as delegated by the RN

Collects and processes laboratory specimens

Maintains department supplies and equipment

Assists with clerical duties

Performs job specific requirements and other duties as assigned

Serves as a preceptor for new employees

Qualification

EMT-B certificationEMT-A certificationLNA certificationBasic Life SupportTeamwork

Required

High school or equivalent (GED)

National Registry Emergency Medical Technician-Basic (EMT-B) or National Registry Emergency Medical Technician-Advanced (EMT-A) or Licensed Nursing Assistant (LNA)

Basic Life Support - American Heart Association

One year of prior experience as an EMT or LNA

Evidence of experience working effectively and positively with patients, care providers, and the multi-disciplinary team

Evidence of the ability to perform as a member of a team
