Play a crucial role in taking our product and engineering team to the next level
Launch exciting features for our restaurant partners and diners
Elevate the teams around them by providing technical mentorship and setting the team’s technical vision
Adapt their role to address gaps and reduce risk
Work on complex and unknown problems under pressure or at speed

Collaborate and innovate in the hospitality industry
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in computer science, computer science engineering, or related field
8+ years of experience working as a Software Engineer, preferably in a fast-paced startup environment
3+ years of experience working as a Software Engineering Staff Engineer / Architect
You are a self-starter but very comfortable working closely with a team
You are comfortable working with stakeholders outside the Engineering team including our Compliance, Information Security, Product, Design, Sales and Account Management teams
Strong experience with a backend programming language, Python & Java Web frameworks preferred
SQL / MySQL / Postgres
RDBMS and database design
Unit / Functional Testing
Linux / UNIX
Implementing and building APIs
Monitoring system performance
Leading and growing teams of fellow engineers through complex deliveries
A history of taking projects through the entire software development lifecycle from inception to delivery as a technical leader
A passion for documenting how systems work
Agile Practices
Porting/Software Configuration
Programming Languages and Frameworks
Business Analysis
Analytical Thinking
Business Product Knowledge
Python/MySQL Experience
SQL Performance tuning
Microservice architectures
AWS - EC2 / RDS / S3 / SQS

Payment systems experience
Websockets experience
Preferred
History of building and maintaining systems at large scale
