Responsibilities

Leading and managing hydrology & hydraulics projects from planning through completion for public and private clients, ensuring high-quality deliverables and client satisfaction
Mentoring and supervising a team of junior and mid-level water resources staff, fostering their development, and maintaining a collaborative team environment
Performing and overseeing complex hydrologic and hydraulic analyses using tools such as HEC-HMS and HEC-RAS (1D/2D) for flood studies, stormwater management, and related civil infrastructure projects
Reviewing and approving technical reports, models, designs, and calculations to ensure accuracy, regulatory compliance, and adherence to industry’s best practices
Presenting findings and technical recommendations to clients and stakeholders, translating complex data into clear, actionable insights during meetings and reports
Maintaining and developing strong client relationships by delivering excellent work and responsiveness, and supporting business development through identifying opportunities, assisting with proposals, and leveraging your network
Collaborating with multidisciplinary teams (civil engineers, environmental scientists, etc.) and coordinating with regulatory agencies to facilitate project permitting and compliance
Upholding EnSafe’s safety culture in all project activities – ensuring that 'safety is part of everything we do' for both our team and our clients

Required

Bachelor's degree in civil engineering, Environmental Engineering, or a related field (ABET-accredited). A Professional Engineer (PE) license is required
Minimum of 10 years of relevant experience in hydrology, hydraulics, or water resources engineering (consulting experience preferred), including a history of project management and team leadership
Direct expertise with HEC-HMS and HEC-RAS (1D/2D) modeling software is required
Experience in civil/horizontal infrastructure projects (e.g., stormwater drainage, flood control, watershed management) within the environmental consulting domain
Demonstrated ability to lead project teams, mentor junior staff, and manage multiple priorities
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including experience preparing reports and delivering presentations to clients or public stakeholders
Strong people skills with the ability to maintain and grow client relationships
Willingness to occasionally travel to project sites or client meetings as needed
Ability to start promptly (position is open for immediate hire) and meet project deadlines

Preferred

Familiarity with related tools (e.g., GIS, StormCAD, SWMM, or other hydrologic/hydraulic models) and engineering design software are a plus
Understanding of applicable regulations and permitting (such as FEMA floodplain considerations) is beneficial
Experience supporting business development or having an existing network of client contacts is highly desirable
