Payroll Administrator

The Payroll Administrator is responsible for recording and processing the company’s time and attendance, ensuring compliance with accounting principles and government regulations, and managing payroll data to ensure accurate and timely payments to employees and agencies.

Responsibilities
Administers Prevailing Wage from start to finish. This includes but is not limited to: calculating manual counters, performing weekly prevailing wage audits, timecard corrections, administering certified payrolls, administering the Department of Industrial Relations (DIR) process, administering active contracts, etc
Collaborate closely with internal and external customers to manage the prevailing wage process
Processing of weekly, bi-weekly, off-cycle payrolls from start to finish
Collect and input payroll data such as hours worked, sales, from time sheets and other records
Administers internal ticketing system to ensure accurate payroll inquiries are reviewed
Prepares computer input, enters data into computer files, or computes wages and deductions and posts to payroll records
Answers employer, manager, and employee payroll related inquiries; providing information while maintaining a high level of customer service and confidentiality
Responds to all Federal, State, and other agency requests for compliance documentation (wage orders, garnishments, tax levies, etc.)
Prepares and issues paychecks or manual checks as requested
Process employee per diems
Ensure the payroll files are in order and meet labor law regulations
Qualification
Required
Experience in payroll processing and administration
Knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
Ability to verify compliance with company policy, procedure, and state and government regulations
Experience maintaining employee data and vacation/sick leave reports
Experience submitting payroll taxes and benefit and 401k reports
Ability to perform payroll general ledger account reconciliation and analysis
Strong attention to detail and accuracy in processing payroll
Ability to manage the prevailing wage process, including calculating manual counters and performing weekly audits
Experience processing weekly, bi-weekly, and off-cycle payrolls
Ability to collect and input payroll data from time sheets and other records
Experience administering an internal ticketing system for payroll inquiries
Ability to prepare computer input and enter data into payroll records
Strong customer service skills to handle payroll-related inquiries
Ability to respond to compliance documentation requests from Federal, State, and other agencies
Experience preparing and issuing paychecks or manual checks
Ability to process employee per diems
Knowledge of labor law regulations related to payroll
