Responsibilities
Performs a variety of tasks involving strenuous manual labor in general or heavy/highway construction projects; performs manual work
Shovels bituminous concrete (asphalt) into construction areas
Excavates and fills trenches and ditches
Maintains a clean job site: picks up all tools and equipment and secures job site each day to eliminate potential hazards
Performs materials handling and storage
Loads and unloads trucks and hauls and hoists materials
Ensures that proper safety and incident reporting procedures are followed
Providing assistance to Foremen and other Supervisors as needed, mixing, pouring and spreading materials, erecting and stripping form work
Laborers may also spend time with traffic control and flagging
Laborers operate a variety of equipment and must adhere to company safety procedures and practices at all times
Qualification
Required
High school diploma or equivalent
Valid Driver's License Required
2+ years of heavy highway experience; Roads, Highways, Bridges, DOT, or site work project experience
Preferred
Valid CDL a plus
OSHA 10 hour training or Flagger Certification a plus
