POET is a leader in sustainable products and bioethanol production. The Maintenance Technician Intern will work alongside Maintenance Technicians to learn about plant systems and perform preventative maintenance and repairs on plant equipment.

Responsibilities

Learn plant systems and sub-systems with regard to operation of pump/valve/meter systems

Complete daily checklists with water testing and treatment procedures

Perform preventative maintenance procedures within the Maximo system

Work alongside Maintenance Technicians performing project work orders

Respond to reactive situations if the need arises (from a maintenance perspective)

Learn operations of the biorefinery, including the DCS system

Foster a culture of safe behavior and environmental compliance at all times

Maintain a team environment at all times and champion POET in the community

Required

High school diploma or equivalent required

Must be pursuing education in a field related to industrial maintenance or operation and enrolled at an accredited educational institution

Excellent organizational, time management, and communication skills as well as the ability to adapt to change

You know the basics of Microsoft Office Suite

You're capable of learning new programs
