Responsibilities

Serve as the primary HR support for assigned regions; administer benefits; ensure HRIS accuracy

Maintain compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws; manage leave and DOT requirements; keep personnel files audit‑ready

Partner with hiring teams to attract top talent and deliver a welcoming, well‑structured onboarding experience

Provide support to employees and managers; resolve issues; be a resource for performance management and coaching

Support recognition, team‑building, and other initiatives that reinforce Axis values and morale

Work closely with operations, safety, finance, and other partners to align HR programs with business needs

Manage day‑to‑day HR activities from onboarding through separation, ensuring consistent, high‑quality experiences

Under the direction of leadership take ownership of designated HR areas; drive positive metrics; implement clear tracking and reporting

Required

Bachelor's in HR, Business, Management, Communications, or related field

5+ years of progressive HR experience supporting multi‑state teams in fast‑paced environments

Strong foundation in state and federal laws

Broad HR expertise across compliance, compensation & benefits, recruitment & onboarding, training & development, performance management, employee relations, and leave administration

Exceptional communication, relationship‑building, and problem‑solving skills

Organized, detail‑oriented, and tech‑savvy

Adaptable, proactive, and passionate about positive employee experiences

Preferred

PHR or SHRM-CP

California experience

DOT compliance experience

HRIS proficiency (Rippling preferred)
