Responsibilities

Responsibilities include individual and team nutrition education, clinical case management, and food service management. Build successful relationships that result in trust and loyalty lending to successful buy-in and behavior change. Utilize all resources and tools for thorough assessment to provide individualized nutritional care that supports performance, health, and wellness, and function as integral part of performance team. Provide nutrition support for practices, competition and travel as warranted. Participate in recruiting efforts. Maintain professional competency and skills required for a high level of professional practice
Coordinate and develop nutrition education initiatives and materials, utilizing a variety of platforms, including grocery store tours, cooking demonstrations, print materials, and social media
Lead all operations related to Football fueling station success - procurement, budget management, inventory management, food safety, nutrition education. Oversee Football fuel station manager(s) and intern program. Assist in other food service operations related to applied performance nutrition at home and on the road
Investigate potential supplements and ensure nutritional supplement use policies and procedures are up to date and followed. Research and analyze scientific and lay reports related to nutrition and athletic performance, translating the findings into sound advice for coaches, athletic trainers, and student-athletes
Lead quality assurance at the Texas Athletics Nutrition Center (TANC) with the Assistant AD of Performance Nutrition & Clinical Wellness. Monitor menu goals and nutrition education goals/initiatives. Provide on-site nutrition education. Evaluate student-athletes and staff on satisfaction and create strategies for improvement
Lead Football Sports Performance Nutrition projects related to outcomes directed data. Lead integration of performance nutrition data with sports medicine and sports performance data to identify impact, improve care, and collaborate on best practices aimed at leading to improved performance, health and wellness of the student-athletes. Collaborate with Assistant Director of Performance Nutrition for Olympic Sports on projects related to performance nutrition outcome data
Perform any other duties as assigned by the Assistant Athletics Director of Performance Nutrition & Clinical Dietetics. Driving a UT or rental vehicle is an essential function of the position

Required

Bachelor's degree of Science in Nutrition, Dietetics, Exercise Physiology or related field
A current Registered Dietitian with the Commission on Dietetic Registration
Texas Registered Dietitian licensure or obtain within 1 month of hire
Two years of experience providing nutrition services and education
Knowledge of human nutrition, with an emphasis on performance nutrition expertise
Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively both orally and written
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Excellent interpersonal communication, presentation, and counseling skills
Excellent time management, organizational, and record-keeping skills
Experience with nutritional analysis software, word processing, presentation software and database management software
Ability to accurately assess and evaluate energy balance, resting metabolic rate, and total energy expenditure consistent with the physiological demands of the sport and activities of daily living
Knowledge of eating disorder and disordered eating signs and symptoms and experience providing nutrition counseling and working in a team setting providing care

Preferred

Master's degree in Nutrition, Dietetics, Exercise Physiology, or related field
Board Certified Specialist in Sports Dietetics (CSSD)
Two or more years of professional experience as a Sports Dietitian in a collegiate or professional sports nutrition program
One or more years of supervisory experience
