Associate Accounting Analyst
The California Governor's Office of Emergency Services (Cal OES) is a leader in emergency management and homeland security, seeking motivated individuals for the role of Associate Accounting Analyst. This position involves managing federal reimbursement claims, interpreting regulations, and preparing claims for the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA).

Responsibilities
Serves as the primary contact for federal reimbursement claims within the Disaster Grants Management Unit
Performs a wide variety of consultative, advisory, research, and evaluative duties related to the federal reimbursement process
Interprets federal regulations and legislation associated with Cal OES's Federal grant programs to effectively prepare quarterly reimbursement claims to FEMA
Qualification
Required
Knowledge of Laws, Rules, and Procedures
Extensive knowledge of the state's uniform accounting system Financial Information System of California (FI$Cal)
Knowledge of state and related federal laws, rules, regulations, policies, and procedures
A full understanding of Federal Grant programs is necessary to effectively prepare reimbursement claims to FEMA
Must have a strong fiscal education and background
Must exercise good writing skills
Ability to follow oral and written directions
Ability to be responsive to the needs of the public and employees of Cal OES and other agencies
Ability to analyze situations and take effective action using initiative, resourcefulness, and good judgment
Must work with limited supervision
