Corporate Staff Accountant

LHH Recruitment Solutions is seeking to fill a Staff Accountant role for a well‑established organization based in North Carolina. The ideal candidate will manage accounting functions, support month-end financial processes, and assist with compliance reporting and audits.

Responsibilities

Manage accounting functions, including journal entries, reconciliations, and preparation of supporting schedules
Participate in month‑end and quarter‑end close activities across various accounting areas
Assist with cash‑related activities such as tracking daily transactions and supporting monthly reconciliation processes
Support compliance reporting tied to the company’s credit and lending requirements
Contribute to fixed‑asset oversight by coordinating procurement documentation, maintaining project cost data, and assisting with depreciation and asset‑related reporting
Review, process, and maintain travel and expense‑related documentation in line with internal policy
Prepare and file periodic tax‑related documents and unclaimed property reporting
Assist with internal control procedures and ongoing SOX compliance requirements
Provide essential support during internal and external audits
Take part in special projects and cross‑departmental initiatives as needed

Required

Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a closely related discipline
Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience
Strong analytical thinking with the ability to solve problems and interpret financial information
Comfortable working both independently and within a collaborative team environment
Strong communication skills with the ability to work across departments
High attention to detail, confidentiality, and accuracy in work output
Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast‑paced setting
