Responsibilities

Come work with a team of engineering professionals at Coffman Engineers’ San Diego office, where collaboration and a commitment to excellence are central to our work
We are seeking an energetic and self-motivated entry-level Mechanical Engineer to join our team
The successful individual will have knowledge of engineering principles relevant to the design of HVAC and plumbing systems including heat transfer, refrigeration, thermodynamics, and fluid mechanics
In addition, the individual should be comfortable consulting to architectural practices and have a desire to work on a multi-discipline engineering team
Work semi‐independently
Able to multi‐task and prioritize in a fast‐paced environment (or demonstrate ability to develop such skills)
Possess strong critical thinking, organizational, and analytical abilities (or demonstrate ability to develop such skills)
Able to maintain positive working relationships with internal and external customers
Positive contributor to overall office and department goals, culture, and morale
Perform other duties as may be assigned

Required

BS in mechanical engineering or related field from an accredited college
Knowledge of engineering principles relevant to the design of HVAC and plumbing systems including heat transfer, refrigeration, thermodynamics, and fluid mechanics
Able to maintain positive working relationships with internal and external customers
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Work semi‐independently
Able to multi‐task and prioritize in a fast‐paced environment
Possess strong critical thinking, organizational, and analytical abilities
Positive contributor to overall office and department goals, culture, and morale
Perform other duties as may be assigned

Preferred

Registration as an Engineer-in-Training or Professional Engineer in California
Familiarity with relevant codes: mechanical, energy, plumbing, ASHRAE
Experience with Bluebeam, AutoCAD, and Revit
Experience working in a collaborative team environment
