Office of the CISO, Chief of Staff

UL Solutions is a global leader in applied safety science, and they are seeking an Office of the CISO, Chief of Staff to support the Chief Information Security Officer and the cybersecurity team. This role is responsible for overseeing daily operations, managing cybersecurity projects, and acting as a liaison between the CISO and other departments.

Responsibilities

Assist the CISO in developing and implementing the cybersecurity strategy and roadmap
Oversee and manage cybersecurity projects, ensuring they are completed on time and within budget
Serve as the primary point of contact for internal and external stakeholders, facilitating communication and collaboration across departments
Prepare and present regular reports on the status of cybersecurity initiatives, risks, and compliance to senior management
Provide leadership and guidance to the cybersecurity team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and professional development
Expand UL Solutions Cybersecurity metrics’ scope and audience. Analyze trends and identify areas for improvement
Develop and implement standardized processes for managing and reporting cybersecurity metrics, automating wherever possible
Lead the development of performance improvement initiatives based on data-driven insights. Recommend process enhancements and new practices to optimize program effectiveness and cybersecurity awareness
Provide expert guidance on industry standards and best practices in cybersecurity performance management, benchmarking internal performance against industry trends
Coordinate the logistics and content of Cybersecurity team meetings and act as advisor, sounding board and gatekeeper for the CISO and Team
Prepare and present program performance results to senior executives, providing actionable insights and recommendations, as required
Draft Cybersecurity LRP presentations, in support of the CISO and finalize the LRP with input from the CISO and other leaders
Draft Cybersecurity Board of Directors presentations, in support of the CISO and then finalize with input from the CISO and other leaders

Required

Bachelor's degree in information technology, Cybersecurity, Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field
PMP, Agile, CISSP, or other relevant PM or Cybersecurity certifications
5+ years of experience in project management, program management, or performance management within cybersecurity or IT-related fields
5+ years of operational experience in cybersecurity or IT
Proven experience managing complex projects, tracking performance metrics, and leading cross-functional teams
Strong understanding of cybersecurity principles, frameworks, and best practices
Excellent project management and organizational skills
Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to work effectively under pressure and manage multiple priorities
Expertise in performance reporting and data visualization tools (e.g., Power BI, Microsoft Excel)
Strong analytical skills, with the ability to interpret complex data and translate it into actionable insights
Experience with performance management frameworks, including KPIs, SLAs, and benchmarking

Preferred

Master's degree in information technology, Cybersecurity, Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field
