Core STA Engineer - Interiors
Ford Motor Company is a global leader in automotive manufacturing, seeking a Core STA Engineer specialized in Interiors. Responsibilities
Lead industrialization and commodity business plan development for high complexity interior commodities
Develop STA point of view with Technical Experts and affected regions on manufacturing feasibility risk assessment and readiness for interior commodity manufacturing
Support and execute launch preparation with the suppliers through and including Phase 3 PPAP
Knowledge in manufacturing, Interior Commodity Preferred (e.g. Injection Molding, Foam in Place, Vac Forming, IMG, IMGL, Paint, Press Bonding, welding, stamping, assembly, etc.)
Collaborative minded with ability to work within a team
Willing to travel to support program launches
Lead development of manufacturing feasibility plans for new parents, new technology, and high-risk commodities
Review quality performance and evaluate enhancements for continuous improvement in interior commodity manufacturing
Drive implementation of robust manufacturing quality control strategies
Provide support to Site STA, engaging supplier’s Global Management team to address systemic quality, capacity, and manufacturing issues
Support the development and maintenance of interior commodity manufacturing standards
Drive robust sourcing risk assessments on suppliers
Collaborate with peers in STA, Product Development, and Purchasing
Work with product engineering on design and engineering specifications (ES) to address feasibility issues
Provide guidance to purchasing for outsourced components/assemblies related to interior commodity manufacturing process and testing procedures
Coordinate efforts regarding FMA, SCCAF, pass through characteristics and quality metrics with cross-functional team
Develop global lessons learned and prevent recurrence
Qualification
Required
Bachelor of Science/Engineering or equivalent combination of relevant education and experience
3 - 5 years minimum experience in manufacturing, quality and supplier management
Knowledge in manufacturing, Interior Commodity Preferred (e.g. Injection Molding, Foam in Place, Vac Forming, IMG, IMGL, Paint, Press Bonding, welding, stamping, assembly, etc.)
Flexibility to travel approximately 40%
Collaborative minded with ability to work within a team
Preferred
MBA/MS preferred – Chemical/Electrical/Mechanical
Ability to speak and write in the English language fluently to effectively communicate with global teams
Advanced knowledge in manufacturing and Interior Commodity
Review quality performance and evaluate enhancements for continuous improvement in interior commodity manufacturing
