Staff Accountant - SaaS

MOHR Talent is supporting a well-established software organization seeking a Staff Accountant who can bring stability, accuracy, and strong technical accounting skills to their Finance Department. This role involves maintaining the general ledger, overseeing multi-state payroll, and preparing financial statements while ensuring accuracy in financial reporting.

Staffing & Recruiting

Responsibilities

Maintain and update the general ledger; ensure all transactions are accurately recorded
Interpret and work with key financial statements, including P&L, Balance Sheet, and Trial Balance
Reconcile intercompany transactions, accounts, and balances with accuracy and timeliness
Oversee multi-state payroll for accuracy; support year-end payroll processes
Support month-end and year-end close through journal entries and account reconciliations
Prepare documentation for external auditors and assist during annual audits
Research accounting issues such as reversals, corrections, allocations, and clean-up entries
Create journal entries and maintain supporting documentation
Manage A/R (checks, ACH, credit cards) and assist with A/P as needed
Maintain overpayment tracking and resolution
Perform bank reconciliations across multiple entities; process deposits (remote & physical)
Prepare annual reports including WC audit, Federal Business Survey, and DOL surveys
Prepare and review 1099s; ensure vendors are set up correctly and G/L accounts aligned
Oversee W-2 accuracy and support payroll as needed
Assist the CPA with projects, investment account entries, and reconciliation of owner draws
Initiate and approve ACH and wire payments
Prepare accurate financial statements including balance sheets and income statements
Serve as backup for Payroll and Collections

Required

Preferred

QuickBooks Online expertise is preferred
Payroll experience preferred; multi-state payroll strongly preferred
Experience working across multiple states, entities, or distributed teams is ideal
Experience with any of the following is a plus: Avalara, Salesforce, ADP multi-state payroll, PayPal, Clover, Stripe
