Responsibilities
Focus on the electrical design, modeling, simulation and characterization of high-speed signal propagation in AMD products
Build system level channel simulations to ensure packages and PCBs are well designed and meet required SI/PI specifications
Extract models for packages, PCBs, and sockets from vendors, collecting standardized models if available, and running through simulation
Qualification
Required
Currently enrolled in a US based University in a PhD degree program majoring in Electrical Engineering or related discipline
Preferred
Knowledge of SI/PI fundamentals and hands-on experience in modeling complex structures such as packages and PCB boards
Knowledge of electromagnetic theory and circuit analysis
Experience in silicon packaging and PCB design for signal and power integrity
Experience in electrical modeling EDA tools such as HFSS, ADS and SIwave
Basic knowledge in Python, Matlab or other engineering computing languages
Ability to work independently
