Responsibilities
Assist with multi-company month-end and year-end close processes
Prepare and support journal entries related to month-end close
Complete assigned groups of balance sheet reconciliations on a monthly basis
Review account activity to identify errors, missing entries, or discrepancies
Support accurate and timely financial reporting
Process multi-state payroll under supervision
Support payroll-related activities including:
Garnishments
W-2s and 1095-Cs
Assist with payroll audits and reporting as needed
Assist with setting up payroll and tax requirements for new states
Support state-specific tax filings and compliance tasks
Assist with workers’ compensation filings and audits
Help maintain company compliance and good-standing requirements
Review accounts payable transactions for accuracy and proper coding
Provide backup support for accounts payable processing as needed
Assist with general Finance team tasks and special projects
Gain exposure to payroll, accounts payable, and broader accounting processes
Learn Mazzetti’s financial systems, controls, and AEC-specific accounting practices
Perform other accounting and finance duties as assigned
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field with 3 years of relevant experience, or No degree with 5 years of relevant accounting experience
Prior experience supporting month-end close and reconciliations
Working knowledge of basic accounting principles and practices
Proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel
Ability to manage routine reconciliations accurately and consistently
Preferred
Experience in an AEC (Architecture, Engineering, Construction) environment strongly preferred
Experience with Deltek Vision/Vantagepoint is a strong plus
Paylocity payroll experience and Vantagepoint experience are significant advantages
