Sr. Software Development Engineer, Leo Network Services - Network Orchestration

Responsibilities
You will collaborate with engineers across the org to gather requirements, design, develop, deploy, and operate across solution pipelines
You will engineer and build solutions which are required for provisioning, address management, packet inspection and dynamic traffic management of the Amazon LEO network
You will work on initiatives building networking functions across AWS infrastructure and embedded devices
Qualification
Required
Deep understanding of TCP/IP networking fundamentals, including IPv4/IPv6 routing, subnetting, and network topology design
Familiarity with implementing and deploying network routing protocols such as OSPF, ISIS, BGP, or similar IGPs/EGPs in dynamic topologies
Experience with the operational characteristics of link-state and distance-vector routing protocols at scale
Experience with network simulation, testing, and validation tools for routing protocol verification
5+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
5+ years of programming with at least one software programming language experience
5+ years of leading design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience
Experience as a mentor, tech lead or leading an engineering team
Due to applicable export control laws and regulations, candidates must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (i.e., current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum
Preferred
5+ years of full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations experience
Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent
Proficiency in systems programming languages (C, C++, or Rust) for performance-critical networking code
Familiarity with embedded systems and resource-constrained environments
Experience with satellite communications, mesh networks, or dynamic topology networks
