ByVerTek is seeking a Fiber Splicer to help professionalize and innovate telecom construction. The role involves splicing fiber optic cables, troubleshooting, and physical labor to expand and optimize the fiber optic network for reliable connectivity.

Responsibilities

Splicing fiber optic cable large and small counts and Ribbon fiber

Light labor including lifting manhole covers and barricading open manholes

Working with ISP/OSP terminations

Working in, from and around hand-holes and manholes

Required

19 years of age or older

Authorization to work in the United States for this company

2 or more years of fiber splicing experience

Knowledge of hot cuts and solid OTDR testing

Experience in how to read and interpret outside and subscriber plant facility records and engineering schematic work prints

Ability to distinguish all colors

Ability to work aloft from ladders, platforms, poles and bucket trucks

Preferred

Ribbon splicing knowledge

Working knowledge of direct termination of fiber-optic connectors including mechanical, anaerobic, epoxy polish, heat cured as well as pigtail splicing methods

Working knowledge of ISP/OSP fiber optics terminations in splicing products in regard to appropriate application

Working knowledge of analog and digital transmission
