Responsibilities

Serve as the lead manufacturing engineer on product introduction projects from initial planning to launch
Actively participate as a core member of cross-functional development teams
Facilitate communication between R&D and manufacturing sites to ensure alignment on production requirements
Collaborate with manufacturing sites to define operational needs including capacity, floor space, equipment, and capital investments
Design and implement lean manufacturing processes using tools such as single-piece flow, standard work, kanban, and playbooks
Develop advanced production methods that ensure consistent process capability, repeatability, and reproducibility
Lead and conduct Process Failure Mode and Effects Analyses (PFMEAs) to proactively address potential process risks
Establish robust process controls and integrate poka-yoke (mistake-proofing) strategies to improve quality and efficiency
Manage broad-scope engineering assignments independently, using sound judgment and effective project planning
Travel up to 5–10% as required

Required

Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Chemical, or Industrial Engineering
3–5 years of relevant experience in manufacturing engineering, ideally within narrow web converting (e.g., slitting, winding, flexographic or inkjet printing)
Strong understanding of the product development lifecycle from a manufacturing or design engineering perspective
Familiarity with quality systems and manufacturing standards
Proficiency in interpreting technical drawings and Bills of Materials
Ability to work autonomously and manage tasks within defined responsibilities
Experience with process capability studies, planning, and implementation of manufacturing improvements
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Proven ability to collaborate across functional teams
Solid project and task management capabilities including prioritization, organization, documentation, and decision-making
