Responsibilities

Lead and execute the operational strategy for a large, complex Patent Practice, aligning people, processes, and technology with long-term firm goals
Own multi-year operational roadmaps focused on efficiency, quality, profitability, and client service delivery
Provide executive oversight to patent docketing, international filings, legal support analysts, and related operational teams
Drive process optimization and technology enablement across patent workflows, including docketing systems and third-party platforms
Partner cross-functionally with Finance, IT, HR, Risk, and practice leadership to ensure cohesive, firmwide execution
Develop and present executive-level reporting, dashboards, and KPIs to inform leadership decision-making
Lead change management initiatives tied to new technologies, workflows, and organizational structures
Act as a thought leader in patent operations, staying ahead of industry trends and evolving regulatory requirements

Required

Bachelor's degree required
10+ years of patent operations experience, including 5+ years in a leadership capacity
Deep knowledge of U.S. and foreign patent prosecution, docketing systems, and IP operations infrastructure
Proven ability to scale operations, lead multidisciplinary teams, and drive continuous improvement
Strong analytical, financial, and communication skills with executive presence

Preferred

advanced degree or certifications (MBA, PMP, Lean Six Sigma)
