Ramp Tower Supervisor - Denver International Airport
City and County of Denver is seeking a Ramp Tower Supervisor to join the Ramp Tower team at Denver International Airport. The role involves overseeing the safe and efficient movement of aircraft in the non-movement area, coordinating with airline partners, and managing daily operations of the Ramp Tower.

Responsibilities
Provide leadership for Ramp Tower Controllers through performance management, administration of the team work schedule, and clear, transparent communication
Conduct monthly one-on-one meetings to build meaningful connections and support staff development, while serving as an advocate for team members
Perform quarterly quality assurance checks to ensure operational standards are consistently met
Actively uphold the reporting structure by addressing team concerns directly and elevating issues appropriately, ensuring supervisors remain the primary point of guidance and support
Maintain currency and certification on all Ramp Tower positions and technology solutions with the ability to perform these duties effectively and safely during all conditions and operational complexities
Proactively coordinate aircraft movements and special operations with airline partners and other stakeholders to ensure the smooth and efficient movement of aircraft in the Non-Movement Area
Assist and support the overall response, management, and resolution of airfield and aircraft emergencies, airfield construction activities, snow removal operations, severe weather, low visibility conditions, VIP operations, and other irregular operations impacting the airport
Work with our airline partners to manage aircraft parking assignments, resolve gate scheduling conflicts in compliance with DEN Rules and Regulations Part 160
Ensure information in the gate management system is current and accurate and usage of the common use resources are properly documented and reported for billing purposes
During deice events, coordinate movements of aircraft with airlines, deice companies, and other agencies while ensuring the proper deice procedures are followed
Read, interpret and enforce Standard Operating Procedures, Operating Instructions, Federal Aviation Regulations (FAR) and city and all other airport rules, regulations, and directives
Resolves problems encountered during daily operations and determines appropriate solutions; promotes teamwork and continuous improvement
Encourages regular communication, informs staff of relevant business issues and their impact on the organization
Monitor aircraft on-time performance metrics and work with the Ramp Tower Controllers to maximize efficiencies when controlling aircraft
Provide detailed reports to management on daily ramp tower performance describing any anomalies
Utilize the gate management system software to assist the Senior Managers with the seasonal and monthly scheduling and planning of common use gates and remote parking areas
Performs other duties as assigned or requested
Qualification
Required
Education requirement: Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Aviation Management, Political Science, or a related field
Experience Requirement: Three (3) years of experience of the type and at the level of Airport Operations Officer in a medium or large hub civilian airport or military facility which must have included assignments involving the coordination of aircraft movement from gates to taxiways
Education/Experience Equivalency: One (1) year of the appropriate type and level of experience may be substituted for each required year of post-high school education
License/Certifications: requires a valid Driver's License at the time of application. Licenses and certifications must be kept current as a condition of employment
FBI criminal background check is required for all positions at Denver International Airport (DEN). Employees are also required to report any felony convictions and/or moving violations to maintain this clearance and be eligible for continued employment
Denver International Airport is a 24/7/365 team operation. If staffing challenges arise, weather conditions warrant, or an emergency crisis occurs, all DEN employees will be required to work extended hours and/or alternative shifts (including nights, weekends, and holidays)
Preferred
Previous leadership and supervisory experience in an airport environment
Excellent communication and collaboration skills
