Network Analyst
CTC - Consolidated Telecommunications Company is seeking a Network Analyst to apply system analyst techniques and procedures for designing, developing, and maintaining network and computer systems. The role involves overseeing network outages, maintaining voice services, and ensuring the quality of service for various subscriber carrier services.

Responsibilities
Designs, maintains, troubleshoots and implements network to support current and future service needs
Designs, implements, maintains, and upgrades planning of the CTC network infrastructure and internet related services and systems
Maintains communications with all levels of CTC as to the needs and status of the CTC network systems
Supervision of network equipment physical organization
Maintain and manage corporate servers and any servers necessary to the operation of the Network and network services
Maintains network systems in a data center environment including software voice switching
Monitors circuit connectivity to ensure the highest quality of services are provided for all voice related services
While performing all job functions Network Analysts must continually use their best discretion in order to protect the integrity of all CTC data servers, routers, authentication systems, software and other data systems
Designs, tests, and implements best practices security procedures
Designs, implements, and updates recovery plan and practices
Design, manage and maintain backups for Network infrastructure and servers
Develops procedures for adding and supporting internal and external users
Research, develop and test all maintenance, software, hardware, and upgrades for network systems
Researching, designing, developing, and testing all maintenance, software, hardware, and upgrades for video systems
Supports internal staff and customers issues through appropriate escalations, troubleshooting and maintenance
Supports corporate users with their equipment, network, wireless phones and communication devices. Provides technical support to both internal and external users as needed
Due to rapid changes and advances in the data industry, Network Analyst I must continually keep abreast of new programming, training, consulting methods and technologies
Prepares appropriate regulatory files and records
Participation in any additional job-related training offered by the company when available
Mentoring and training of other employees within and outside of job family to ensure cross training is established
Shares ideas for improvement. States an opinion or takes a stand if you believe it’s in the best interest of the organization
Performs "On-Call" rotation duties
Other projects and responsibilities as assigned by the Manager and/or Senior Management
Qualification
Required
Knowledge of computer operating systems
Knowledge of current Microsoft Windows versions
Desired skills and knowledge of telecom network transport and access systems
Knowledge of the OSI (Open Systems Interconnection) model
Knowledge of ISP network delivering voice, data, and video services
Knowledge of best practices for security, maintenance, backups, and all proactive aspects of network maintenance
Knowledge of ISP routing and switching
Knowledge of Internet and network technologies, languages, and platforms such as: Ethernet, FTP, SCP, Secure FTP, Email, HTTP, HTTPS, Networking, infrastructure, routing, and protocols (OSI Model), Network Security, Network Disaster Recovery, Redundant Network Design, TCP/IP, IPTV, QoS, OSPF, ISIS, BGP, and other routing protocols, Spanning Tree and other loop prevention technologies, SSL and TLS, VPN, VLANs, QinQ, SIP and H.248, Link aggregation technologies, including LACP, multichassis LAG, and multihoming, Firewalling, Fiber optic access, including current PON technologies
Knowledge of telecommunications industry
Knowledge of SONET, Ethernet, and IP transport systems
Knowledge of digital switching and Soft Switch technologies. TCP/IP Protocols, routing, and testing methods
Considerable knowledge of English, spelling, arithmetic and vocabulary
Considerable knowledge of modern office practices, procedures, and equipment
Considerable ability to communicate well with a positive and friendly manner, both orally and in writing
Skills in prioritizing and completing multiple projects
The ability to be well organized and accept responsibility for and work under occasional stressful situations with frequent interruptions
Considerable skill in communicating expectations with requests and projects and following through to completion
Skill in analytical thinking for identifying problems and resolutions
Ability to follow written and oral instructions
Ability to communicate with coworkers and various business contacts in a professional and courteous manner
Ability to read and interpret documents such as schematics, blueprints and circuit diagrams
Considerable ability to maintain efficient workflow
Ability to pay close attention to detail and the ability to maintain memory for and attention to details

Must obtain and then maintain working knowledge of company products and services
Knowledge of industry regulations
Network Analyst I – A.A. or technical certificate in computer science or equivalent
Three or more years of experience and/or education
Valid Minnesota drivers' license and good driving record
Preferred
Linux/Unix knowledge would be beneficial, but not required
Telecommunications experience is desired but not required
