Vice Chair Board of Directors
Global Newborn Solutions (GNS) is focused on improving newborn health outcomes in low-resource settings. They are seeking a Vice Chair for their Board of Directors to provide strategic leadership, oversee operations, and contribute to fundraising efforts.
Government Administration
Responsibilities
Uphold GNS’s mission and vision through effective governance, oversight, and compliance
Approve and monitor strategic plans, budgets, and organizational performance
Ensure responsible fiscal stewardship and support sustainable growth
Actively contribute to fundraising by engaging in at least two of the following: making a personal gift, opening doors that lead to donations, and participating in coordinated outreach
Attend quarterly board meetings and relevant committee meetings, dedicating approximately 12 hours per quarter to board service
Assist in recruiting, orienting, and strengthening the board
Provide input on strategic direction and monitor progress toward organizational goals
Qualification
Required
Bring deep expertise in fundraising or go‑to‑market (GTM) strategy, ideally within global health or nonprofit contexts
Contribute nonprofit board experience to strengthen governance and board development
Support the Founder/Board Chair as well as the Executive Director in board management, recruitment, and overall board effectiveness
Serve as a thought partner in shaping board culture, accountability, and strategic growth
Proven track record in fundraising and donor cultivation for nonprofits
Connected to large donor networks and able to open doors for GNS
Recent, direct experience significantly growing both small and large individual donor bases
Experience in donor communications, public relations, and brand positioning
Expertise in early stage GTM strategy, especially for health products in LMIC contexts
Ability to advise on scaling sales pathways and validating market demand
Experience bridging product development with market entry in resource‑constrained settings
Previous nonprofit board experience is required
Commitment to the mission and values of GNS
Ability to work collaboratively and constructively within a team and virtually
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Preferred
Familiarity with fundraising for global health products and nonprofit programs in LMICs strongly preferred
