Director of Hotel Group Sales
InterContinental New Orleans is seeking a Director of Hotel Group Sales responsible for driving group business through proactive sales efforts. The role involves identifying, securing, and maintaining group bookings for various events while collaborating with multiple hotel departments to ensure successful execution.

Responsibilities
Identify, target, and secure group sales opportunities within the assigned market segment, including corporate, social, and association markets
Build and maintain relationships with key decision-makers and event planners. Negotiate group rates, terms, and contracts in alignment with the hotel’s objectives
Follow up on inquiries, qualify leads, and convert them into confirmed group bookings
Collaborate with the operations team to ensure the smooth execution of group bookings, including room blocks, meeting spaces, catering, and event logistics
Monitor local competitors and industry trends to identify new opportunities and maintain a competitive edge
Maintain a high level of customer satisfaction through effective communication and personalized service to clients before, during, and after events
Track sales performance, report on sales metrics, and provide regular updates to the Sales Director and senior management team
Attend industry events, trade shows, and networking functions to build relationships and generate leads
Work closely with other hotel departments such as Revenue Management, Marketing, and Operations to ensure group business goals are aligned and met

Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in Hospitality Management, Business, or related field
Minimum of 2-4 years of experience in hotel sales or group sales management, with a proven track record of success
Strong knowledge of hotel operations, event planning, and group booking processes
Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities
Strong proficiency with sales and event management software
Successful completion of a background check is required prior to employment
