Responsibilities
Support fuel pathway development and certification under programs including California LCFS, U.S. RFS2, Canadian Clean Fuel Regulations (CFR), and European RED
Develop, modify, and apply life cycle assessment (LCA) models , including GREET-based tools and post-processors
Perform carbon intensity (CI) calculations and prepare supporting documentation for regulatory submissions
Analyze renewable and alternative fuel production processes (e.g., ethanol, biodiesel, renewable diesel, RNG)
Prepare clear, defensible technical reports and client-facing deliverables
Collaborate directly with clients to interpret results, evaluate compliance strategies, and identify improvement opportunities
Manage multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining high standards of analytical rigor and documentation quality
Qualification
Required
3–10 years of professional experience in environmental consulting, renewable fuels, energy systems analysis, or a related field
Demonstrated experience with fuel certification programs, including LCFS and Canada CFR
Solid understanding of renewable and alternative fuel production pathways and associated environmental impacts
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to clearly explain complex technical analyses
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team-based consulting environment
Familiarity with environmental policy frameworks, regulatory compliance, and process design
Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis. Life Cycle Associates does not provide visa sponsorship now or in the future
